The Unknown Lurks Beneath:
The Subterranean Setting in Escape the Gloomer
Do you know the difference between a stalagmite and a stalactite? Bubbling springs or underground lakes pique your interest?
Much of the Lost Legends of Redwall: Escape the Gloomer takes place below ground, in the subterranean dwelling place once inhabited by the blind water rat, Gloomer. Redwall fans will recognize this setting from Mossflower, the second book in the Redwall series by Brian Jacques. Using that setting as a starting point, we’ve interwoven several themes to spark your imagination: light and darkness, water and fire, hidden things and treasures found, abysmal depths and vaulted chambers, to name but a few. These elements provide lots of opportunities for the Player to interact with the game world Team Clopas has created.
We’d like to know what you think. What are some of the elements of underground Kotir are you expecting or would like to see? What challenges do you think you’ll face? And how do you think that will affect how you play? Let us know in the comments.
By the way, that thing with the stalagmite and stalactite, it has to do with the direction they’re pointing.
